The Farm: After several years in getting the farm up and going, it was a pleasure to see our first substantial harvest. We harvested several hectares of rye, as well as two types of potatoes and horseradish. The results we received were encouraging, and is the basis for continuing our work in the coming year.

In addition, we renovated and reconstructed potato cellar bins, stairs, and doors for the storage of potatoes for next years seed crop, as well as new doors for the barn to replace the broken doors.

The farmhouse continued to be fixed up. A new floor replaced the old floor on the second floor. During the renovation of one of the rooms, we discovered the date when the original house was apparently finished: August 22, 1864!

The Camp.  The year saw several groups come and use the farm, not only as a family retreat or ‘vacation’ get away, but also saw several artist weekends, where local Christian artists were able to come and sharpen their skills, as well as being able to share in Christian fellowship.

There has also been thought to develop an intermediate step on our goal to develop a full children camp - to develop a camping area with Christian emphasis, essentially an “eco park” destination. Consulting with various ecological and  biological experts of regional and national understanding, Repini is thought to be a very good example of the ecological diversity that can be found in Latvia and would be of interest to groups like school children. Repini has a number of ‘micro sites’,  from ecological valuable grasses, to forests that are renewing, as well as a continually growing beaver dam and pond located not far from the farmhouse.
